The RGCP Facebook will host an online talk with archaeologist Graeme Cavers of AOC Archaeology Group. Graeme will talk us through the aims and planned activities of the Rhins Revealed Project as well as taking us on a whistle stop tour of the archaeology of the Rhins, with a focus on Doon Castle (featured image). The presentation will be pre-recorded to guard against any technical glitches, but Graeme will be online and available from 7pm to 8pm to answer any queries you might have.
The Rhins Revealed is an exciting community archaeology initiative that is part of the new walking route being created around the Rhins of Galloway. It sets out to record, investigate and conserve some of the most important archaeological sites found on the Rhins.
We’ve had to press pause on in-person project activities for the moment, but we will be delivering more online events in the coming weeks. We’ll advertise those here, and we look forward to being able to let you know of opportunities to get involved in the great outdoors in the not too distant future.
